Alas, a Belgian beer, the Chimay Red or Rouge as the Belgians call it. The ale starts of dark and meanders it way to a light floral finish, as the Belgians tend to do. The aftertaste is sweet, approaching a dry bitterness. The beer does have a 7% ABV, which it needs to offset the floral flavors that suggest more of a wine spritzer. All in all, the Chimay Rouge is decent for a Belgian and gets a 3.0.

A measly 3?
Are you high?
Chimay Red is the standard for Belgian Trappist ales.
All of your other ratings are suspect if you that's the most you think of it.
Man, I love love love Chimay Red! You've really got to open yourself up to the Belgians.
I know of at least one more of your readers who will object to the 3 rating. Hint: His first name starts with an M and ends with and ike.
oops, make than an ike, not and ike.
Remind me not to comment after drinking champagne at work events. than = that.
This review is under dispute. Giving a 3.0 to this beer is going to color many people's opinions of all past and future reviews.
It could be an error. I mean, the 3 is pretty close to the 4. And the 5 is right there too...
